. Miss B. Black, of Frederick Street, is staying at Paraparaumu. Miss J. Archer, of Wellington, is the guest of Mr and Mrs A. M. Ongley, of Batt Street. Mrs E. W. Gabites, who has been spending the holidays with her sister, Mrs C. G. Hayward, of Cliurcli Street, has returned to Hastings.
A recent visitor to Palmerston North as the guest of Mrs L. E. Bale, of College Street, was Miss J. White, of Gisborne, who has now gone to Wanganui to take her training at the Stewart Ivaritanc Hospital.
Mrs C. G. Hayward, convener of the Palmerston North National Club, recently entertained women members of the club who had assisted her during the period that she had held the position, at a tea party in the club lounge. The rooms were decorated with artistic arrangements of roses, carnations, and hydrangeas and the afternoon was pleasantly passed with conversation. As a token of recognition of her untiring work for the club throughout the past two years, Mrs C. A. Driver, on beb-'f of the women of the committee mule a presentation to Mrs Hay waul, who. in reply, thanked the members for their co-operation.
