PERSONAL
The death has occurred of Mr A. C. Blake, who, from 1880 to 1928, taught at Sydenham, Waimate High School, Tiroaru Main School, and at Wellington schools, including Lyall Bay, of which he was headmaster for 19 years. After his retirement he was for 12 years a member of the Wellington Education Board and the Technical College Board of Governors. Ho was. for five years a member of the Victoria College Council, also a member of the Educational Broadcasting Advisory Committee. He was born in India in 1862. He was tho eldest son of Rev. Alexander Blake, a Presbyterian minister, and was also a grandson-of Rev. Bcnjain in Rice, who, for 50 years, was a missionary in Mysore. Ho was educated at the Otago -Boys’ High and Canterbury College.—Press Association.
