TUNISIAN CAMPAIGN.
(Rec. 12.55) LONDON, Dec. 25. Downpours of rain have further curtailed air operations in Tunisia, says the Associated Rress correspondent at Allied Headquarters in North Africa. French troops have won new ground southward. of Ront du Fahs and westward of Kaiwan. Referring to the increasing night patrolling on both sides, a headquarters spokesman said: “1 cannot say what this portends, hut you can be sure that this state of affairs cannot continue very long. The enemy is constantly reinforcing and undoubtedly has got a hell of a lot of stuff.” According to the Official Wireless, Christmas greetings from General Eisenhower were given to all the troops in North Africa, in which lie expressed complete . confidence and profound thanks to all ranks, and extended to them and to the Navy and Air Forces, his best wishes.
