Mrs J. H. Whyte, of llolleston Street, leaves to-morrow for Raumati Beach.
Mrs V. Taylor, of Palmerston North, is spending the school holidays in Wanganui. Friends of Mrs H. Palmer, of Church Street, will learn with regret that she has had to enter a private hospital and will wish her a speedy return to health. Miss M. Oram, -who has- joined the WtA.A.C, and is undergoing an officer-cadet training course at a military camp, is spending Christmas leave with her parents, Mr and Mrs M. H. Oram. News has been received in London that Mrs "W. Pembcr Peeves, widow of the first High Commissioner for New Zealand in London, recently received serious injuries when she wns struck by a motor-car in Cambridge, where she was staying with her sister, Mrs Lascelles.
A pioneer of Kimbolton, Mrs Edney, recently celebrated her 83rd birthday. She arrived at Kimbolton with her husband and three young children 51 years ago, the first white woman to live there. A true pioneer, Mrs Edney, who still enjoys good health, recently rcpapcred rooms m her home which she manages herself. Although her lingers are somewhat bent with rheumatism she still plays the piano and sings.
