At the launching of seven warships at Houston (Texas) the Secretary to the Navy (Colonel Knox) declared that tho United States after the ivar must maintain control of the seas in the interests of peace. The ceremony, which lasted all dav, reached its climax with the presentation of war bond certificates for 70,000,000 dollars subscribed bj the Houston people to pay for the new cruiser Houston to replace the original lost in the Java &cn battle -
