MORE RAIDS ON BURMA
LONDON, Oct. 7.
The R.A.F. has continued its raids on Burma, and on seven recent visits it has directed its attacks on the Mandalay area and targets further south.
In tho latest raid big fires were started in tho oil district. The Japanese have been trying to restore the wells which were destroyed before the British withdrawal, but they have not yet been able to get oil and the R.A.F. raids are making their task more difficult.
Since the end of May the R.A.F. has been over Burma on 53 days.
According to the Official Wireless, a Royal Air Force communique from New Delhi says: "Our bombers attacked targets in Central Burma on Tuesday. They bombed buildings and barracks at Yenangyaung and targets in the Chindwin and Myittha valleys were also bombed."
