A good number of members attended the October meeting of the Woodville Women's Institute, Mrs N. M. Burnett presiding. Thanks were received from the Patriotic Society for £2O donated by the institute to the All Purposes Appeal, and correspondence in connection with the Women's Crusade for Victory. The meeting unanimously adopted the pledge. An invitation was received to be present at the W.D.F.U. birthday party, also for tho : Women's Institutes birthday party at Papatawa. Mesdames' Gilbert and Hickson were appointed delegates to the half-yearly council rtiecting of'the Bush Federation, to be held at Eketahuna. A letter received by Mrs D'. S. Keay from a captain of the Maori Battalion in acknowledgment of a cake was read by the recipient at- the meeting.- The president of the garden circle reminded of the forthcoming show and spoke of arrangements in connection with it. Regret was! expressed at the impending departure from Woodville. of Airs G. L. Hartridge, the president remarking that Mrs Hartridge has been an- exceptionally 'keen member and will bo much missed. Mrs H. P. Home artistically demonstrated the making of a wreath of wild hyacinths and wisteria. This wreath was later placed on the Soldiers' Memorial in Fountaine Square. Mrs W.
