JAP OIL TANKS BOMBED

(Special Australian Correspondent.) SYDNEY, Oct. 7._

After 11 days of purely reconnaissance activity, Australian Hudson bombers made a daylight raid on Boela, the former Dutch oilfield on tho north-eastern coast of Ceram (in the Moluccas, west of Dutch New Guinea). Boela is mentioned for the first time in to-day's communique from General MacArthur's headquarters. The oil tanks were destroyed by the Dutch after Japan entered the war, but presumably they have now been repaired by tho enemy. They were the target; near.misses were scored at a low level, and it is believed that certain tanks were damaged.
