SENTENCE IN THEFT CASE

(Press Assn.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 8. Raymond John Watts, aged 28, an Air Force sergeant and formerly a buyer for Woolworths (N.Z.), Ltd., who had.pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate's Court to ten charges of theft, ten charges of failure to account, one charge of forgery, and one charge under the Secret Commissions Act, to-day in the Supreme Court reversed his plea and was sentenced by Mr Justice Blair to terms of imprisonment amounting to three years and three months. The amount involved in the charges exceeded £16,000.
