LOSS OF MAILS

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 6. The Postmaster-General reports the loss by enemy action of mails from the United Kingdom for the Dominion, including letters and printed papers, posted in north-west districts on June 18-28, Scotland June 18-27, and elsewhere (except Birmingham)’ Juno 18-26. Correspondence from Birmingham earlier was not lost. Parcels for New Zealand from all districts posted on June 16-26 were also lost.
