WASHINGTON, Oct. 4. American combat planes are more than a match for opposing enemy planes, the military affairs subcommittee of the House of Representatives reported after a fortnight’s study of charges that American fighters were inferior to some German and Japanese planes. Commenting that in aerial combat it is the box score that counts, the report revealed that American planes are consistently shooting down the enemy in the ratio of two to one_ or three to one.
