LAVAL’S PRETENCE
LONDON, Sept. 24. In France there is a significant development in Laval’s co-operation with Germany’s plan regarding French workers. Vichy reports say that Laval is to be responsible for the registration of Frenchmen not only in Unoccupied France but in all parts of the country, and ho has committed himself to all of the measures which the Germans would have had to take if the round-up were enforced by Germany, but Laval pretends that it is a voluntary action on the part of Frenchmen.
