MAIST BROS' SCHOOL
The Marist Brothers 'High School presented its annual concert in the Opera House to a largo and appreciative audience. The programme was well varied and maintained the high standard 6ot by the school in past years. Pleasing vocal and dramatic work was a feature, and a gymnastic display was cleverly carried out. Colourful settings added to tho enjoyment. A character song, "The Wedding of the Painted Doll," was one of tho best presentations of tho evening, a very pretty effect being obtained; two plays wero well done by the young actors, and the musical and vcntriloquial items provided good entertainment. It was a programme reflecting much credit on all concerned and showed painstaking care in preparation. Before the final scene, Very Rov. Monsignor MacManus thanked the audience for its patronage and all who had assisted in staging the concert, also paying a tribute to the good work of the Marist Brothers and the boys. The progranimo was as follows:—National Anthem; choruses, "The Mountaineer," "The Bell March]'; piano duct, "Qui Vive," E. and B. Sinclair r parallel bars and pyramids, senior pupils; "Freddy and Bill," W. Aisher; character song, "The Wedding of tho Painted Doll,' K. Ross, R. Raphael, D. Clapcott B. Manson P. Quoenan, V. Toohey, P. Leslie, B. Stewart, D. Barbridge and pupils; violin solo, Intermezzo from "Cavalleria Rusticana," B. Hehir; play ,"Tho Ghost of Jerry Bundler," L. White, E. Sinclair. L. Kavanagh, B. O'Neill, C. Bayly, E. Greening, N Horgan ; play, "The Buccaneers," L. Ja'rvis, D, Clapcott, G. Willis, R. Macdonald, G. Turner, D. Purcell, Joe PoOi, K. Woodill, K. Ross, G. Paul, J. O'Neill. G. Macdonald, M. Anderson, assisted by 40 other pirates. The accompanistcs were: Miss C. Bartlett, Mrs F. Murphy. Mr F. Aisher carried out the duties of stage manager.
