DRAPERS' CONFERENCE.
The annual conference of the New Zealand Federation of Drapers. Clothiers, and Boot Retailers was held in Wellington. Representatives were present from almost all districts. The rules of the federation were revised and the name changed to the "N.Z. Federation of Drapers and Allied Retailers". Provision is made in the new rules for the admission to membership oi such other retail traders as come within the scope of the federation's activities. Mr J. R. Rendell, Auckland, and Mr W. Simm, Wellington, were unanimously elected the first two life members. Officers elected include: President, Mr B. L. Blodorn, Timaru ; vice-president, Mr F. A. Smith, Auckland; immediate past president, Mr W. M. Sexton, Palmerston North ; advisory board, Messrs W. 33. Nichols, E. R. Norman. H. Smith, E. G. Shearer, and G. M. Stratmore. all of Wellington; council, North Island, Messrs T. B. Ferguson (Hastings), W. P. Griffith (New Plymouth). C. S. Jeffs (Wanganui), K. R. Waite (Gisborne).
