Miss J. Scrivener has returned to Wellington after visiting Dr. and Mrs li. It. Whitehead, of College Street. Mrs J. Staveley, of Albert Street, left to-day to spend a holiday in Auckland, and will be the guest of her mother-in-law, Mrs W. Staveley. Mrs Malcolm Holmes, of Wellington, was the guest of her mother, Mrs David Millar, “Park Neuk,” Whakarongo, over the week-end. Mrs K. E. Davidson, of Blenheim, is visiting Palmerston North, and is the guest of her mother-in-law, Mrs J. Davidson, of Fitzroy Street. It is reliably reported that King Leopold of the Belgians has married Mary Libia Bacls, aged about 30, the daughter of a former Belgian Minister of Agriculture and Governor of West Flanders.

On Saturday evening the members of the W.W.S.A. held their final dance of the season at the Little Theatre. The hostesses were Miss C. Warburtoji and Mrs E. Harrod, the committee comprising Mcsdames Honore and Day. Miss 11. Davis and B. Brown. Mr J. Brown was M.C. and had the assistance of Mr A. W. Chapman. Miss Eveline Marion Harcourt has died at Liebenau, Wurtemburg, Germany, according to advice received by Mr C. J. 8. Harcourt, Wellington, from the office of the High Commissioner for New Zealand in Loudon. Miss Harcourt, together with Miss Acland, Canterbury, was among the prisoners taken from the Port' Hobart when that vessel was sunk by enemy action off Porto Rico on November 24 last year. Miss Harcourt during the last war was associated with Lady Myers in work at Base Records, Wellington, and was awarded the 0.8. E. for her services.
