The Rangitikci Dairy Company 3s to make a further payment to suppliers of 2ad per lb of butterfat supplied during last season, at its annual meeting.
A record output of 2839 tons of butter, or 10.6 ;>er cent, above the production for the 1939-40 season, is revealed in the annual report of tho To Awamntu Dairy Coy., Ltd., for tho season ended 3lay 31. At tho invitation of a Pohangina farmer, Mr A. McClean, of the Waikato, will shortly make a brief visit to this district for tho purpose of advising whether the soil and climatic conditions are suitable for growing a- special variety of pampas grass with which lie has experimented for five years with marked success. Though ho has only 2j acres ot this permanent pasture divided into five half-aero sections, bis butterfat lias increased by 10001 b each season. '
