RUGBY FOOTBALL.

At 3 p.m. at the Sportsground to morrow the United and Kia *1 oa teams _ will play off for the Manawatu Rugby Union’s eetiior club championship. United won flic first round and Kia Toa the second. The teams have met twice previously; each won once and on both occasions .there _ was but one point between the scores. With such a background' to-morrow’s match should roach new heights for inter-club Rugby in the Manawatu. The curtain-raiser will be between St. Patrick's and University teams, commencing at 1.30 p.m., and a.t Feilding the Feilding combined side will he matched with the Old Boys team, the latter two matches heing the first of the union's subsidiary competition.

HOROAYHENUA UNION. Air A. Gillespie was in the chair at a meeting of the Horowhenua Rugby Union. The Air Foree Club wrote protesting against the decision of the committee to play off the deciding match of tho first round of tho senior championship, Air Force v. Foxton, at Foxton. The letter was received and no action taken. Sergeant Hewitt (Air Force) gave notice to move at th* next mooting that the motion to play the first, round final at Foxton be rescinded. It was resolved that a surplus of the grant from the New Zealand union for primary school football be handed' to the secretary of the primary school funds. It was decided that the senior games next Saturday be the semifinals of the knock-out competition.
