RUGBY FOOTBALL.
DIANAWATU UNION. Air A. M. Ongiey was in the chair at a meeting of the Alanawatu Rugby Lnion’s management committee last evening. The Ilorow Itenua Union wrote asking it a junior representaive match could be arranged for August 9, the day of the senior representative match, the teams to play in Levin. It was decided to reply that the union could not accede to the request. The manager (Mr \V. Mitchell) of the junior representative team which beat Wanganui presented a report on the match and this was received, as was the report of the manager ol the fourth grade team. In regard to P. Barton, ol the Kia Toa Club, who was reported to be a League player, the Feilding and Feilding Old Boys combined club asked that the match, in which he played, be awarded to the combined team. It was decided, on the chairman's motion, to advise the Feilding club that as it did not lodgo a protest no further action would be taken by the union. It was decided that the match between Kia Toa and United be for the Jubilee Cup and the Hankins Shield. This match will decide the championship. The Feilding combined team v. Old Boys and the University v. St. Patrick’s encounters in the senior grade will be the first games in the subsidiary competition. The fixtures for Saturday ate: —Senior: Kia Toa v. United, 3 p.m., Sportsground (Dir C. Fglinton); Feilding Combined v. Old Boys, 3 p.m., Johnston Park (Dir B. Trow) ; University v. St. Patrick’s, 1.30 p.m., Sportsground (Dir R. Young). Juniors: Feilding Old Boys v. Bunnythorpc, 2 p.m., Bunnythorpe (Dir C. Pinfold) ; St. Patrick’s default to Halcontbe; United v. Old Boys, 3 p.m.. No. 2 Rugby Park (Dir B. Iloldsworth); Kia Toa v. High School, 1.30 p.m., No. 2 Rugby Park (Dir E. Jackson). Thirds: Kia Toa v. Feilding High School, 3 p.m.. No. 4 Rugby Parle (Mr C. Broughton): High School v. Feilding, 3 p.m.. No. 5 Rugby Park (Dir IT. Shearman); Old Boys, a bye. Fourths: St. Patrick’s v. Feilding High School, 3 p.m.. Nc. 6 Rugby Park (Dir J. Hart); Kia Toa v. High School, 1.30 p.m., No. 4 Rugbv Park (Mr A. Gendall); Technical V. United, 1.30 p.m., No. 5 Rugby Park (Dir A. 1. Charles); Feilding Old Boys a bye.
