The Minister of Defence (Mr .Jones), aske'l what steps would bo taken to fill tho post of InspectorGeneral of the Military Forces, vacated by General Sir Andrew Russell, said there was no intention of filling the ■ position. | Ho expected an early announcement 1 would he mado of a successor to General Sir John Duigan, who recently retired from tho position of Chief of the General Staff. Asked whether the mobilisation of Territorials was contemplated in New. Zealand in view of file fact that this . is being dono in Australia, the Min-1 istcr repli/d that ij’.ere was no inten- j tion of having a complete mobilisation of the Territorial Forces at the present time.
