A meeting of the Wellington accountants passed a resolution urging that the special committee set up under the Excess Profits Tas Act should include a fully-qualified nominee of the Society of Accountants. It was held that such an appointment would ho distinctly in the public interest. It was jipreed that public accountants should make a strong effort to get the fixation of a later date than May I for the first instalment of the social and national security tax, as the present obligation put a tremendous burden on accountants concerned with the taxation interests of their clients and the problem was becoming steadily worse. -
