PEACE OFFER. STORY. LONDON,' July 1

The Lord Provost ot Glasgow (Sir Patrick Dollan) lias repeated Ills statement, which was denied by the Ministry of Information, that Hitler’s deputy, Rudolf Hess, flew to (Scotland with peace terms. Sir Patrick lias now added a list of German proposals, which, he states, included : —•

(1) A British withdrawal from Europe and recognition that Europe should be Germanised, politically, financially, and in the army, navy and air force.

(2) Withdrawal by Britain from the Mediterranean, including the .abandonment of Gibraltar and Malta to Italy. (3) Abandonment of Britain’s influence in the Suez Canal area and withdrawal from the Sudan, Egypt and Iran.

(4) Reduction in the strength of the British Navy, a curtailment of the Air Force, and limitation of the Army. Sir Patrick Dollan added: “Hess suggested that if the group whom lie came to see was prepared to advocate acceptance of these terms to Parliament, he would fly back to Germany and toll Hitler, who would immediately begin a peace campaign.” Sir Patrick challenged the Government to deny the truth of his statement
