Their many friends will regret to hear that Mrs 11. 11. Oppatt, of 12 Hanson Street, Palmerston North, has received advice that her husband, Private Haydn 11. Oppatt, who six weeks ago was reported wounded, is now reported missing.

The friends of Mr IV. G. Black will be pleased to learn that he is now recovering from the indisposition from which he has been suffering for some time. At yesterday’s meeting of the Wanganui Education Board a letter was received from Mr Black stating that he hoped to be hack with the board for its next meeting. It was decided to send a letter expressing sympathy with him in his illness and hoping that he would soon be fully restored to health. Corporal W. If. Early, son of Mr and Mrs N. Early, of Arapae, To Kuiti, who has been reported missing, was a student at Massey College Lu 1935 and 1936. A keen Rugby footballer, he secured a place in the lirst fifteen. After leaving Palmerston North he returned to the farm at Te Kuiti for a period and subsequently went to Australia, where he enlisted with the A.T.F. for overseas service on the outbreak of war. He subsequentlv saw service in Palestine, North Africa. Greece and Crete.
