The eighth annual meeting cf the Defence Rifle Chili was hold on Saturday night, Mr W. G. S. Romley presiding. The report showed that the club lias come through a. trying year very successfully, and completed a short competition period by conserving a small supply of ammunition for this purpose. Tho balance-sheet showed a sound financial position. The election cf officers resulted: —Patron, Mr A. W. Akers: president, Mr W. G. S. Romloy: vice-presidents, Messrs W. R. Kells. S. Mayhcw. J. H. Any major points affecting the club will bo discusscjl on the range by all members, financial aiicl active, should any occasion arise. Delegates to the Manawatu Rifle Association were left tho same as last year’s. It was dotided to hold tho club’s open championship and ladies’ shoot on January 1, subject to rifles still being available.
