Mr and Mrs K. Coley, of Cross Creek, were recent visitors to I'oxlOn as flic guests of Mr Coley’s parents, Mr and Mrs R. Colev, of Jcnks Street. There was a very attendance at a dance organised by the Foxton Basketball Club. A professional orchestra provided tho music and extras wero supplied by Mr R. Nicholson and Mr XV. White was M.C. Mr 11. D. Dawson, president of the Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club, with which the Basketball Club is associated, referred to tho recent marriage of Mrs McCauley, one of the club’s most enthusiastic members.. lie thanked Mrs McCauley for the services she had rendered and asked bet to accept a gift, which carried with it the very best wishes for her future happiness from licr fellow players. Mr Dawson mentioned that opportunity was also being taken to bid farewell to Aircraftsman Bryan Saveli and lie called on the Mayor (Mr M. E. Perrcau) to speak in this connection Mr Perrcau, who is president of the Patriotic Committee, presented Mr Saveli with a gift as a token of appreciation and esteem from the residents, and wished him well. Mr Perrcau, in his capacity as president of tho Surf and Life-Saving Club, also made a presentation to Mr Saveli on behalf of that club.
