Afore vivid tliun any photographs or written descriptions, these pictures by Captain Peter AlcIntyre, the official artist with the N.Z.E.F., recapture spectacular features of the strangest war ever fought. Living as a soldier in Crete, Captain Mclntyre saw the battle and the evacuation through a soldier’s eyes. He sketched the parachute landings as they occurred and tramped many miles to watch the other unforgettable aspects of the invasion and the magnificent resistance offered by his own I comrades.

The pictures arc included in his first t public exhibition, which was opened in Cairo to-day bv Lady Waved, and it is expected that the collection will be shipped lo New Zealand as soon as possible after the show closes. Highly praising Captain Mclntyre’s work. Lady Wavell said his gift as an artist plus his experience as a soldier eminently fitted him for his position. She added that the pictures would form an invaluable record.
