SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

Terrace End School.—Mr W. B. Tonnent was in the chair at a meeting of the Terrace End School Committee last evening. A motion of sympathy with Mr J. Fyfe in his illness was pa-ssed. The Wanganui Education Board advised that Mr E. G. Schwarz's transfer to the Hokowhitu School ir place of Mr F. A. Graham was a war appointment. Mr J. E. Hunt hae been appointed a relieving teacher in place of Mr Schwarz. The visiting committee for next month is Messrs L. Gardner and Tennent. The report of the headmaster (Mr 11. W. Thompson) staled that the roll number was 451 and the daily attendances wore satisfactory. The role of the Hospital class was 16. The wooden building had been converted into an assembly hall.. Central School.—Mr J. 11. Butler presided at a meeting of the Central School Committee, when the headmaster (Mr E. Bary) reported that the attendance was up to normal and that arrangements for the annual school bali. to be held next month, were well in hand.
