DOMINION PAYMENTS
SATISFACTION AT HOME. (United Press Association—Copyright.) (Ree. 10 a.m.) LONDON, July 17; The Chancellor of the Exchequer (Sir Kingsley Wood) has written to Mr Eraser expressing sincere gratitude to the .New Zealand Government for the arrangements made to pay off Britain's advances for war expenditure.
l'reasurv officials expressed the opinion that the repayment reflects much credit in the handling of NewZealand's overseas resources during tho difficult war period. Tdr Eraser, in a speech at Aberdare, said that in some extraordinary way a man had arisen to dominate and hypnotise the German people and lead tlicm into ways of terrible cruelty, vindictiveness, destruction, and death, in an effort to conquer the world. "It is better for us to be dead than tolerate it,"' he declared.
