MANAWATU HUNT. TO-MORROW'S MEETING. (By "Spectator. ') With several Grand .National and Winter Cup candidates engaged iu the iic.us, tlie iUanawatu Hunt Club'e nnotiiig at Awapuni to-morrow is attracting more than o. binary interest, 'iho chance of seeing some of the Grand National candidates in action is not likely to be overlooked by the racing public oj this distr.et Tin win and place system of belting will bo in operation and the first event 13 timed lor 11.30 a.m. Most interest will likely ccntro in the West Coast Steeplechase, which has attracted a very useful field, including five Grand National candidates. BirkOiOgy, it is stated, will start in the Hack Cup instead of in this event. Jewelled Girdie is a brilliant juniper over hurdles, but may find the stifier Awapuni country a problem. Krination is a seasoned campaigner and tlierc is litltc wrong with hi* condition. Chat may not be quite at her best, but her jumping should stand well to her and she is likely to be one of the favourites. Lucidus may not be fancied, but Uotie Boy has had a bright future predicted for him ; he is a good juniper and stays well. Three of those lower down in the weight have won at Awapuni and the race bears a very open appearance. The To Horo Open Handicap has drawn a field of 24 and il may be difficult to select the favourite. Lady Tinkle has a good record, but 6ho has not raced for some time. Gayest Son impressed with a splendid porlormance on his last visit to this course and he is reported to bo very well. Autolite is a solid sort, and a good beginning would find Royal Star II handy at the finish. The distance may be a bit short for O.ladynov and Lilt'c Robm. Saxon Tor, Centrepoiao and Wings ol Song have not faced the starter for a long time. Master Cyklon and Young Charles are recent winners. Thirteen of the acceptors in this event claim an engagement in the C.J.C Winter Cup The Hunt Cup Steplcchasc should prove another interesting race. Dauber has earned his position at the top of the list and will have a following. Dozio Boy is engaged earlier, but if started here, would bo one of the favourites. Karere-mn 1= also accepted in another event. Summons has won at his last two starts and will, no doubt, bo the first fancy. Game Pit is a good jumper and Beau Monde may do best of the others. Another big field is engaged in tho Ccnltenham Hack Cup. Of those at the top of the lift Myaxion and Rcnascor may find most favour. Sanction galloped well on Tuesday and Birkology, although the edgemay have been taken off his speed, has some good pcrfoi rnances on the flat to hi* credit The Grand rational Stceplechas* candidate Bridegroom is to be given a run iii this event.
