Wuldowson), the matron (Miss Huntor), and the secretary of the Wanganui centre (Mr It. L. Garden) accompanied hy Mrs Garden, at the official opening of the new rooms of the Marton branch of the lied Cross Society last evening The president of the Marton branch (Mr M. 0l’enwicke)' presided. Reference to the fine work carried out by tho Red Cross Society oicrscas as well as in IN'c w /lealand was made by the ;>alron of tho Marton branch and chairman of the Wanganui centre (Mr F. Purnell). Mr Purnell. in officially declaring the buildings open, paid tribute to tho splendid manner in which the society had worked in with the Marton Patriotic Committee. A demonstration of Red Cross work was given by members following the opening ceremony. ‘
