WORK AT OHAKEA.

TRAINING REARRANGED.

(Press Assn.) WELLINGTON, July 16. Tlio. temporary extension of the Royal New Zealand Air Force flying activities to tlio civil aerodromes in South Taranaki and Northern Manawatu districts as a result of changes at tlio Air Force stations at Ohakoa and New Plymouth was explained in a statement by Hon. F. Jones.

“Many people in the Taranaki and North Manawatu districts may have noticed recently some changes in the flying activities' of the Royal Now Zealand Air Force at both the service and civil aerodromes,’ 1 ’ the Minister said. “The reason is that t lie normal flying training at Ohakoa and Now Plymouth has been rearranged temporarily while certain work is being carried out on the aerodrome at Oliakea. Some of the flving training normally in progress at Oliakea has been transferred to Now Plymouth and the civil aerodromes in the districts mentioned, particularly at Hawera. have been used for the time being for other flying training activities.'

“Residents near some of the civil aerodromes may have noticed recently different types of aircraft to those normally seen in the districts where routine service flying takes place, and the presence of Air Force units on some civil aerodromes . may also have aroused some curiosity. These changes are, however, merely a temporary measure- while the work now in progress on the Ohakea aerodrome is being completed.”
