T he health inspector forwarded his quarterly report, ; which was received. Referring to tho rural ' housing scheme and loans granted under | its provisions, the county clerk (Mr \V. IHesseltinc) reported that 11 applications had been made for loans, lint several had been withdrawn. Others had been .gran od. The high cost of building materials had probablv been the cause of some of the applications being withdrawn. It was deckled to advise the Church of England at Kiwitea that nothing can he done to the parking area at present. .... ~ The statement ot rates showed 1940-41, "■eneral rates: Paid, 18s lid; outstanding, £9 18s Id.
