After a retirement of four hours, the .jury in the Supreme Court at Palmerston North, yesterday, failed to agree in the case in wliich Donald Thompson, aged 48, baker's van driver, was charged with committing an indecent assault at Marto.n on June 7. and, alternatively, with common assault. Mr H. R. Cooper, who appeared for the Crown, applied for a new trial, the application being granted bv His Honour the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers;) who presided. Messrs A. M. Ongloy and R. A. "Williams appeared lor accused.
