RED CROSS SOCIETY.

On Monday evening, the Kosy Hall was packed when 150 women members of the Red Cross Society attended the initial lecture of a series being given by Dr. T O. Gilbert on the subject of first aid. After being introduced by the president (Mr A. R. McKcrk) Dr. Gilbert proceeded with the lecture which was illustrated with the latest charts. The standard would seem to he even liigher than the previous high standard set by Dr. Gilbert in former courses of first aid instruction. At the conclusion of the lecture enrolments were made, new members welcomed, and the recently appointed commandant (Mrs G. Lyne). assistant commandant (Mrs W.
