London.—R. A. F. Flight-Lieutenant \. J. .Mowat, son of Mr and Mrs A. N. Mowat. of Otago; has been affianced to Flight-Officer Mavjorie Allen, of the W.A.A.F., a daughter of Captain R. W. Allen, of Liverpool.
The Federal Government has decided to produce 22,000.000 gallons of power alcohol a year, 'fin's will be made up to 7.001000 gallons from existing atilivrJrous distilleries. 5.000.000 callons from existing rectified spirit distilleries, and 10,000.000 gallons from distilleries to be erected.
