BONUSES FOR SEAMEN.

(Rec. 9.4.5 a.m.) SEATTLE. July 15. American Federation of Labour officials report a contract on the liner American Star to pay a 500-doliar bonus to each seaman for each call at a Russian port. The agreement also provides for a bonus ot two dollars for every day spent west of the 160th meridian (which skirts the eastern limits of Japan), with a bonus of 150 dollars for calls at Uriont ports. In Tokio the Government spokesman denied reports that Kobe had been closed to foreigners. He said the port! was open as usual. |
