ROWLAND—McKENZJf

On Wednesday, Juno 25, a quiet wedding of considerable interest was solcmnised at St. Peter's Church, Terrace Knd. when Juno Catherine, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs R. A. McKcnzie, of Feilding. and formerly of Milson's Line, was married to Desmond Timothy, eldest: son of Mr and Mrs 'J'. Rowland", of Karero. Rev. F. S. Ramson performed the ceremony and Mrs Charles presided at the organ.

The bride, who was escorted by hor father, wore a frock of blue Angora with applique trimming. Worn with this was a matching bat, of blue trimmed in Old World stylo, and accessories to tone. A cyclamen spray of cardinal rod completed an effective toilette, and she carried a Prayer Rook of the same shade as the spray. Attending the bride was Miss Rillio Greonhow, of Hiwinui, wearing a frock.of mushroom pink sheer wool, the boll. of which was studded with tiny gold roses. She wore a sailor ha!, of burgundy felt, with shoes and gloves to match, the latter being the gift of the bridegroom. Her spray was of orchids and she carried a Prayer Rook.

Mr fiiiics Rowland (Tiakitahuna), cousin of the bridegroom, efficiently carried out the duties of best man, and Mr Noel MeKcnzie was usher at the church. During the signing of the register, Miss Vera Moginie. a friend of both the bride and bridegroom, gave a delightful rendering of "I'll Walk Reside You."

A reception was held at. which the bride's mother, assisted by Mrs Rowland, received the guests. Mrs McKenz.ic wore a tailored costume of blue grey, with a spray of daphne, and Mrs Rowland wore a wine frock and hat. and fur coat, with a spray of heather and violets. The usual toasts were honoured and a large number of telegrams were read. AV'hen the bride and bridegroom left later for a tour of the island, the bride wore a mist tan frock and hat and carried a tailored coat of Air Force blue. The bridegroom'b gift to the bride was a beechwood fox fur. The bride will reside with her parents while her husband is serving with the N.Z.E.B'. overseas. Prior to the marriage, Mrs and Miss Joyce. Rowland gave a gift, afternoon at Messrs Collinson and Cunninghame's tearooms, where many useful and valuable gifts were received by the bride. A linen tea was also held at the Rosco tearooms by friends of the bride, Miss Willie Greenhow, Mrs G. Gore and Miss Madge Mercer. FITT-JOHN SOX. A very pretty evening wedding was solemnised at All Saints' Church, Palmerston .North, on June 21, 1941, when Charles Munro, only son of Mr and Mrs C, Fitt, of Thynne Street. Foxton. was joined in holy matrimony to Elizabeth Miriam, daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Johnson, of Matipo Streot. Palmerston North. Rev. Canon Woodward ofliciated. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, looked charming in a frock of white satin cut on slim lines. Her beautiful net veil, worn with a coronet of orange blossom, fell gracefully over the long train of her frock. Ilcr sheath was composed of white jonquils and maidenhair tern and shoes oi white satin were worn. The bridesmaids were Miss Silvia Johnson (sister of the bride), as chief maid, who wore pale green talfeta. Miss Margrot Fitt (sister of the bridegroom), who wort' blue georgette over taffeta, and Mrs N. T. Riches (matron of honour), who chose a irock of pink taffeta. All the bridesmaids wore nut haloes and carried bouquets to tone with their frocks, 'there were two little flower-girls. Violet Johnson (sister of the bride) chose a frock ot green satin and carried a posy of artificial flowers, also wearing a halo to tone. The bridogroom's little niece. Dawn Ford, wore a white satin frock with a white cape trimmed with pale pink fur. She also wore a head-band of [link rosebuds and carried u posy of artificial flowers. As the bride left the church she was presented with two white satin horseshoes, one from little Daphne Zimmerman (niece of the bride). ] and the other from little Alice Wickham. 1

The bridegroom was supported by Mr E. Davies, half-brother of the bridegroom, as best man, and Mr D. Ebbitt, of Foxton. and Mr A.. J. Thompson, of Fcilding. After the ceremony a reception was hold at the Business Girls' Club rooms in Rangitikei Street, where a largo number of guests were received by Mrs Johnson, mother of the bride, and Mrs Fitt, mother of the bridegroom. Mrs Johnson wore a violet coloured coat over a rose pink frock, and chose a hat to match. She also had n. shoulder spray of daphne and maidenhair fern. .Mrs Fitt chose a navy costume with accessories to tone, also a shoulder spray of violets and maidenhair fern. The usual toasts were honoured, being entrusted to .Mr E. Davies and Mr A. Johnson. The ,'ake had been beautifully iced by Mrs Adamson, of Stanley Avenue. The major part of the evening was spent iu daneinz. the duties of M.C. being carried out by Mr A. Johnson. The bride's travelling frock was of blue pique georgette, with hat and accessories to tone. Mr and Mrs Charles Fitt will make their future home in Palmerston North.
