N.S.W. ELECTIONS
(Rcc. 12.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, .May 17. The new Labour Ministry was sworn in by the Governor (Lord Wakehurst). After the distribution of preference votes Mr Fitzsimons has been returned with a majority of 381. Air Mair (cxPrcmier) has won the Albtirv seat and the final state of the parties is likely to be: Labour 55. United Australia Party and United Country Party 26, Independents 9. The United Australia Party surprisingly lost another seat when the distribution of preferences was completed, Mr Gloucester (Independent) being returned. Three seats arc still undecided. One of these is likely to be won by an Independent. Sec “New Ministry.”—Page 7.
