Eul) details are not available, but preliminary reports state that large (ires were started on the aerodromes and that a considerable number of enemy aircraft were destroyed. It is' now established that on the night of .May 13-14 two Messersehmitt 110’s and six other German aircraft were destroyed over Crete by our fighters. “Malta was again raided yesterday and on the previous night some slight damage was. caused to R.A.l l '. property. A number of civilian houses were destroyed. “From all our operations in the Middle East to-day, these including activities in Syria and Iraq, two ot our aircraft are missing.” RAID OX CRETE. (Roc. 11.15 a.m.) LONDON. May IC. Italian bombers raided Crete but live were brought down, no damage being done and no casualties being suffered. A message from Nicosia reports that a small force of Italian bombers raided: Cyprus and dropped bombs in varioi # places. The damage was slight and only three persons were.injured.
