RETALIATION IN SYRIA R.A.F. ATTACKS NAZI PLANES LONDON, May 16. • Following swiftly after the announcement that the British Government would not hesitate to take suitable action against Nazi movements in Syria and Iraq, British aircraft to-day attacked Nazi planes on aerodromes at Palmyra, Kayak, and at Damascus (the Syrian capital).
