RAIDERS CHASED

GERMAN ADMISSION. ’ (United Press Association —Copyright) (Rec. 11 a.m.) LONDON, Mar. 24 The Herlin radio admits that heavy Dritish naval forces, including a battleship of the Malaya class, chased the German Rattle Squadron in the Atlantic for two days and attempted to make contact when raiders were attacking British shipping on the Australia and India routes in the waters of the Atlantic. A ship of the Nelson class on another occasion was near the raiders. A message from Philadelphia says Commander Alercer. attache to the British Consulate, lias informed New York that a damaged British cruiser is to be repaired at Norfolk (Virginia). This is the first of a number of British warships which will put into American ports for repairs under the provisions of the Lease or Lend Act.
