NAZI PRESSURE
SLAVS STAND FIRM. . OFFICERS' LOYALTY. (United Press Association.—Copyright.) (British Official Wireless.) (Eec. 10 a.m.) RUGBY, Mar. 23. The position of Yugoslavia is still obscure. The only certainty seems to be that the strongest pressure is being exercised by the Axis Powers to line up Yugoslavia on their behalf to the most extreme degree.
Some light is thrown on the conflicting opinions in Yugoslavia by the fact that the Society of Yugoslav Reserve Officers is reported to have had a meeting at which unanimous approval was given the following resolution: "We learn that we find ourselves in the course of concluding an agreement which is jiot in harmony with our national honour and independence. Therefore, to give emphasis to our protest, we reserve officers and warriors are cancelling our general assembly meeting. In breaking up, we declare our readiness to defend with our lives our independence and to guard the frontiers of our country and be faithful to bur King and fatherland in the spirit of our national traditions." It appears that over GOO reserve officers were present. A Press Association message says it is reported from Belgrade that Prince Paul (Senior Regent) received M. Tsvetkovitch (Premier), who proposed the names of new Ministers to succeed those who have resigned.
