AUSTRALIAN TURF.

AMERICAN'S INTEREST. (Rec. 12.40 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 24. The American film producer and sportsman, Mr Louis B. Mayer, intends to race horses in Australia, and arrangements have been made to buy a number of thoroughbreds for him. His first purchase is a vearling'filly by the Victoria Derby winner Hua from' Nirriti by Cyklan (imp), and a number of other transactions in yearlings are pending. So far no trainer has been appointed, but it is almost certain they will be prepared in Sydney.

Although it was intended at the time of the negotiations that Beau Pere would return to Australia after loan to Mr Mayer, it is not likely that the horse will leave America.
