"Matter" was the suhjeot of the Lesson-Sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday. The Golden Text was Isa. 40: 6. 7: "All flesh is grass, and all the goodness thereof is as the flower of the field : the grass withereth. the flower fadeth; because the spirit of the Lord blowefh upon it." Among the citations which comprised the Lesson-Sermon were the following from the Bible: "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world the love of the Father is not in him. And the world passe.th away, and the lust thereof: but lie that doeth the Will of God abidetlt for ever." (I John 2: 15, 17.) Also the following passaces from the Christian Science textbook. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy: "Prom beginning to end the Scriptures are full of accounts of the triumph of Spirit, Mind over matter. Neither philosophy nor skepticism can hindei the inarch of the Science which reveals the supremacy of Mind. Material substances or mundane formations, astronomical calculations, and all tHe paraphernalia of speculative theories, based on the hypothesis of material law of life and intelligence resident in matter, will ultimately vanish, swallowed up in the infinite calculus of Spirit."
