A RECIPE.
! Wash as many large tomatoes as re-quired-and cut in halves and put on a. flat fireproof dish. Melt 1 dessertspoon butter in a saucepan, add 1 dessertspoon flour, cook a little, then add 1 cup milk, stir until sauce thickens, then add 1 tablespoon cheese, 1 teaspoon grated onion, pepper and salt to taste, and a little cayenne. Pour over; tomatoes, sprinkle top of each tomato .with cheese, and bake in a hot oven j 'for about 10 minutes. Serve with fingers of fried bread. i
