EXTRACTS FROM "STANDARD." MARCH 15, 1911. Proposals for the establishment of an Australian navy were not looked at favourably because of the huge Cost involved. Hugo prices were being obtained in the West End of London for the rent of mansions for the Coronation. One owner asked £20,000 for three months for a house. , The Levin waterworks had been completed and were most satisfactory. Ex-President Roosevelt, speaking at Dallas/ Texas, declared that failure to fortify the Panama Canal would' be criminal folly.
