THAILAND DEMAND.
WILLING TO NEGOTIATE. (Rec. 12.25 p.m.) BANGKOK. Dee. 15. The Government has announced its willingness to negotiate a settlement “by peaceful means” on the question of the Indo-China territories which Thailand demanded. The Thai Government has requested Indo-China to send a Erencli Commission to Bangkok. A Thai communique says that French planes dropped incendiary bombs on Sholnakorn and Mukdahorn.
STRONG FRENCH WARNING. HANOI, Dec. 14. A French warning to Siam that further air raids on Indo-China would result in drastic French retaliation, including the bombing of Bangkok, is believed to have been responsible for a temporary cessation of aerial warfare. Frencli planes raided Oubon, the terminus of the railroad from Bangkok. . .
A message from Bangkok says that a civilian official on the Thai general staff and a major on the active list have been arrested on a charge of selling secret military plans to the French. The Bangkok radio has issued a warning to the population of lhailand against Fifth Column activities. A Saigon message states that French authorities claim to have smashed a native Communist revolt and • broken up a plan to seize French arms and munitions-for a march on Saigon. Wording to a Tokio message the Doinei News Agency’s correspondent somewhere in Indo-China said that Japanese naval planes bombed the Burma.' Road. destroying the new Kungkuo bridge over the Mekong River. .
