YOUTH KILLED BY TRAIN.
Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 9. Derek Christopher Barker, aged 19, of Windeniere Road, Papanui, was killed instantly when he was struck by a train at Papanui this morning. The accident happened when Barker was apparently about to cross the railway line while on his way to work. The street does not cross the railway line at this point, but there is a track which is occasionally used.
