STERNER MEASURES NOW.
MEDITERRANEAN WATCHED (United Press Association—Copyright.) (Rec. 9 a.m.) LONDON, Oct.. 7. There is an impression in informed circles that the Royal Navy will adopt sterner measures against Germany and Italy because of their “sink at sight” policy.' The Admiralty is reported to he watching the Mediterranean position most carefully with a view to dealing forcefully with every development. It is considered that action there is more imminent than elsewhere. The Admiralty announces that His Majesty’s trawler Comet has been sunk by an enemy mine.
