ART UNION PROFITS.
NONE FOR SPORTS BODIES. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Oct. 7. Though admitting ’the merit of claims for financial help of some of the sports bodies whose membership had been affected by the calling up of men for military service, the ■ Minister of Internal Affairs (Hon. W. E. Parry) told a deputation to-day that there could be no grants to the bodies from art union funds. The profits from that source; were still, he said, being piv'l over by the Government to the Dominion mayoral relief funds, for immediate relief of cases of distress not covered by the Social Security Act. Tiie Minister mentioned that giving by people to the funds to help the fighting forces had had an effect on art union profits.
