Mrs E. Leckie, of Heretaunga, is the guest of Major and Mrs J. T. Bosworth, of Fitzlierbert Avenue. Mrs E. Williams and Miss Cynthia Williams, of Palmerston North, are visitors to Wellington.
Miss Zona Williams, of Palmerston North, is the guest of Mrs C. Rust, of Hataitai, Wellington. Miss Jean Campbell, national girls’ work secretary of the Y.W.C.A., is the guest of Mrs P. Flood, of Massey Street.
Before her departure for England Miss Jean Jonson, chief escort to New Zealand of the 89 boys and girls from Scotland who came to the Dominion under the Children’s Overseas Reception Scheme, spoke highly of the many helpful kindnesses extended to her by the people of Wellington and officials of tho State Departments with whom her work brought her in contact. The Minister of Internal Affairs (Hon. W. E. Parry) said yesterday that a high impression was formed of Miss Johnson’s qualifications for her work. She had bepn very helpful in consultations concerning the settlement of British children in New Zealand.—Press Association.
